Mosaic Marbles Socks Pattern Tip
We typically recommend using a wool/nylon blend yarn for socks. Typical sock yarns contain 10-25% nylon. The nylon adds strength and helps your socks to last longer. And wool is absolutely fantastic for socks – no matter what season you plan on wearing them!
That being said… for this pattern, you could use a wool/nylon blend for the color that you are using for your toes and heels (where socks wear out fastest) and a yarn without nylon for the other color. This assumes that you make your socks with matching toes & heels (not like the photo, where the socks and heels are opposite colors).
Some yarns that would be great for the Mosaic Marbles Socks are:
Mary Ann Sock (85% superwash merino wool, 15% nylon)
Malabrigo Sock (100% superwash merino wool – not for heels & toes; see note above)
Gems Fingering (100% machine washable merino wool – not for heels & toes; see note above)
