Welcome to the Smoky Mountain Moebius Cowl KAL!

Smoky Mountain Moebius Cowl KAL

The Smoky Mountain Moebius Cowl is the perfect project to learn how to knit a moebius. The design is deceptively simple and is ideal for showing off a beautiful yarn. And it is a one-skein, quick-knit project – great for gift giving!

In this KAL you will learn how to:

  • Do a moebius cast on
  • Sew in your ends so they are invisible (a must for projects like this that don’t have a “wrong” side)
  • Seamlessly bind off in the round
  • Use a lifeline to avoid ripping out all your work
  • Read your knitting
  • Fix common mistakes without ripping out all your work

Participants should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off in the round prior to starting this KAL. Adventurous knitters who have never knit in the round will be able to complete this project.

Recommended Supplies

  •  Smoky Mountain Moebius Cowl pattern (click here to purchase the pattern)
  • 1 skein worsted weight yarn. We have several options available below.
  • US 8 circular needle, 40” or 47”. The pattern author recommends a 47” needle, which is what I used to knit it, and it worked, but I would have preferred using a 40” needle.
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
